Default Bowhunting N. Missouri?

My family is thinking of hunting in north missouri this fall in early november. We are thinking about the NE part of the state. How much public land is there and how many hunters during bow season? Any areas that are better than others? We are looking for any advice. Thanks

Default RE: Bowhunting N. Missouri?

Two years ago I went on an archery hunt in NE Missouri. The outfitter had 8,000 acres under lease. As I recall he said that there are always people looking to lock up the leases of the farms. If the farm is not leased, then its for family use. Not so sure how truthful he was as I was not impressed with the operation or his professional approach to deer hunting. Good luck, I can't say what the public hunting access was like.
