Do deer eat pears?

RE: Do deer eat pears?
I think it's safe to say deer will eat just about anything they put their mind to.
I have a landscape co., and have to deal withdeer damage to just about any type of foliage........Top of the list.......
Roses of any species
Ilex(holly) of any kind...exept for maybe one..(dragon lady)
and pyrocantha berries.....about the thorniest damn bush that exists.
As for pears, I would say that would be a no brainer.....yum yum!

There's a old pear tree next to a barn at my friends old home place and when the pears fall off the tree there are always deer there eating them.Funny thing is it is only about 40 yards from the old farm house right across the road from where they go deer hunting...not sure if anyone has ever shot any deer by the pear tree or not?...I'll ask my friend if anyone has ever gotten a deer by it?

Deer are the goats of the woods. They will eat just about anything at least once. I've sat and watched does take a bite out of every plant they came across while making their way through a creek bottom. Some they swallowed and some the spit out.
