how much do trophy hunters hunt?
How many hours per week or days per season does a "trophy hunter" have to hunt to be successful. I know there is no set time, but how much would you say you need to be in the woods to give yourself a legitimate chance at shooting a big buck. Please dont respond with "hunt as much as you can" because that is already a given. I am curious for numbers.

I don't consider myself a "trophy" hunter, but I am out to shoot one of the larger bucks for my area. While I spend a real good amount of time in the woods all season, the minimum amount that I would still hold confidence in getting a chance at a mature buck is a week during the peak of the chase phase of the rut.

I hunt 3 days a week. Last year I killed two P&Y bucks 19 days apart in November. It was on my own135 acresand I hunt it by myself. I have ownedthe propertyfor over 4 years. Last year was the first 2 bucks that I took with my bow. This is one of my 10 walls in my basement with a few of my mounts. They are all trophies to me.
They prob came from the nabors farm huh

My farm. The second one from theleft with the 7" drop tine and 23 1/4 inch inside spread was seen 3 weeks earlier by me at my 26' RV when I was returning to my truck after an evening hunt. I killed him 3 weeks later 1/2 mile from the RV. I guess he liked the home I made him or the doe he was with.

I bet I logged over 30 hours in a one week season last year... Although I had a shot the 3rd night but My scope was off unbeknownst to me.....[:@]oh and he was easily 150s...[:'(]
