It's amazing that anybody even ever got a shot at anything "back in the day"

You have no idea how it was.

If you care to give it a try.

Here is what you need/don't need.

Recurve bowLaminated not fiberglass
Maybe 160 FPS
Cedar arrows/Turkey fletched/6"
Glue on Super Hilbray BH / Hand sharpened
Finger tab
Leather boots/ NO Gortex
WWII wool fatigues
No CamoBurnt Cork face paint OK
No metal standsclimber or ladder
no scent shield/ camp fire smoke OK
Camel or Lucky Strike cigarettes OK/ everybody smoked
1/4 of the amount of deer we have today
No Google - To find out info, you had to KNOW somebody and call them on the phone.
No trail cam
No Ariel photo's
No GPS
No trail timer
No Interstate system
No 4 wheeler
No pro-shop
You could call Bear Archery and speak to Fred.
WMA's /Nope
Seven day season
Nothing made of plastic

Seems, this is what it was like in 1964 when I got my first deer.
And you know what..the guys 10 years older are saying you were spoiled..cuz you didn't have to whittle arrows or make your own bow from a tree limb and on and on the cycle goes.

Nope. You've just seen real-world experience from two of the guys who probably put in more time in a treestand than 99% of anyone else on this forum...
105424 members leaves 1054 members in that 1%....yeah, that leaves room for me, GregH, AP, etc..ect.

Thanks for clearing up the math..

Luckily I'm off my pain meds or those numbers could have been much different. [8D]

Hard cast goes on Wednesday. [&:]

I wear rubbers! ~boots that is

I wear RedHead BuckStalkers and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased...including more comfortable than most sneakers. They were like $60 at Gander Mountain, they are camo, rubber (scent free) and provide great traction.

I use rubber boots on every hunt. I don't know if they help but I do.

Now, now... let's not go overboard. We had plastic nocks on our wood arrows. You do remember the old Mercury Speed Nocks don'tcha.

Ive used rubber boots for years and will not go into my hunting area with out them.I do not wear them untill I get to my hunting spot .I spray them down after I put them on and take them off when I return to my truck. Now that they make them insulated with 1500 grams+of insulation I can wear them all season. I have my older pair of uninsulated ones I use for early season and turkey hunting.

I knew you'd run the numbers on that buddy... Your season's too short out there to make it to the .01 % group!

Can you smell rubber? So can a deer. I just spray my nylon/rubber soled boots with scent killer spray.
