RE: feathers overhead (video)
Great video! This video is a great exercise to demonstrate how deer can jump the string. If anyone questionsa whitetail'sability tododge an arrowat 20 yds, try this...
Stand up by your monitor andwatch the video. Stare at the shooter, as if you're an edgey whitetail about to spring. In fact, you don't even have to watch, just turn away and listen. When the arrow is released, react. Oh yes, you can hear it quite well. Try simply dropping down, flinching to the left or right, and springing away. I think you'll find you can move several inches, if not well over a foot before you hear the arrow hit the bag. Once you hear the tunk of the bow and have begun to move, you won't even notice the sound of the feathers.
If we "civilized" types can dodge arrows so well, just imagine how well an alert whitetail can do it on a serene October morning when bow noises aren't masked by the sounds of passing traffic.

I checked GT's site and my shafts are 10.9/in. I also noticed that they are spined at .300. I had gone to these because I thought the (55/75's) were underspined. Anyway, my Axis and FMJ's are 400's so maybe it's a spine thing causing the noise.
I didn't think about how they are glued on either. Good stuff. Thanks.
