I'm trying an approach I read from Eberhardt. He said he has used this tactic to try and catch a buck still on his summer pattern.....before he goes in there and risks being scented or spotted. It's just a theory.
I'll pick a good rainy day a couple of weeks after the opener and set my 3 lock ons. I rarely hunt a lock on, anyway. I like the versatility of the climber to get exactly where I want......based on where I'm observing them as I'm hunting. Nothing exact....just a theory.
