Default drop 5lbs and loose 30fps???

well long story short, my trykon and i have not really gotten along that well from the start of our relationship last spring. today at the pro shop i decided to go froma 70lb pull to a 65lb. now this is a big step for me, i am a bit of a speed freak. i do all i can to get as much out of my bow as possible. i just got new carbon express maxima 3D selects that are 8.2 gr per inch cause they are target quality and light. anyway, i'm anal about it, always have been. well my problem at 70lbs was i had a hard time holding steady at full draw and not shooting consistly tight groups at all. and just the draw cycle was harder then hell. my old single cam bow at 70lbs felt like a piece of cake compared to the trykon. I was getting about 301 fps out of it at 70 lbs. i dropped it to 65 and the crono said 271. yeah can you believe that? could that be true? 5 lbs means 30 fps??? please tell me something is wrong here!

2006 hoyt trykon 32" draw, 30" CX with 85 gr tips and blazers = 367grs
70lbs - 301fps - 73 ft lbs KE
65lbs - 271fps - 59 ft lbs KE

now my only hope here is the crono is jacked up. after i dropped the draw weight to 65 my first 2 shots through the crono said 297, 300. i got the guy that worked there and said look at this, how can this be???
the next 2 shots through the crono said 271, 273. so i hope that the crono is just not working right.

on the bright side, i was slapping arrows out to 30yds. i did notice a speed difference cause my groups were lower at 30 then they were before, i just wonder how much slower my arrows are really going.

31 with a nice size loop will not work? 32 inch 70 lbsand just over 300 fps. Something is wrong.

If you had a 20 fps deviation in the readings on the chrono something is wrong, probably florescent lighting. Chronos really don't work under flourescent lights.

IBO is 316fps. You are shooting close if not rite on IBO. you should be shooting well over 300fps. More like 310, matters what is on your string ect.

it was a standard light bulb

i know what's on the string matter as far a the string weight is concerned. i have a string loop, montec peep sight and wiskers. I'm not a fan i of wiskers but the sting buzz was bad. i have a STS on order. when i get that i may take the wiskers off.

I'd bet the 299 and 301 where the more accurate numbers. I'm gettingover 300 fps with the equipment you listed.
