Ode to SC.....
Your deer aren't huge
Your towns are small
But don't you be forlornin'
For we'll be here
and you'll be there
In treestands come the mornin'
Happy opener, tomorrow......buttwipes
Good luck to you guys.

That was pitiful , wasn't it?
If I'd thought about this....I could be hunting, Saturday. It's just not worth $250 for me to shoot does 3 hours from here.
It would be like driving 3 hours to step out on Jenny McCarthy with Oprah.

Yep, exactly 366 days ago today, I was sitting in Orangeberg county on the edge of a peanut field (with a rifle... shame on me), watching 18 does, fawns, and small bucks feeding away unmolested by my 120gr TSXs. Had to wait on big boy, who never showed.
Also saw the undisputed largest Eastern Diamondback in the state. He stretched out on the path under my stand (getting down in the dark was fun), but he gave me two good reference points. Got a tape from the truck.... 83 inches long... from what I could tell I only counted 9 rattles.
