Bad Luck!

Bad Luck!
I want to hear your stories about bad luck so far this year. Ill start this with mine. First off one of the places I hunt is having a bike path run through it, (Ive posted this before) which has run most of the deer out, the ones still around have gone nocturnal. Secondly a property that boarders another place I hunt has been leased out to a hunting outfitter and Ive been told he uses this property as a shooting range. Just from my experience deer dont like gunshots therefore Im seeing nothing there either. Finally the two nice bucks I have seen so far this year I cant hunt. Not because I cant get permission, but because the city limits run straight through the small patch of timber the bucks stay in. And where these deer bed, rub/scrape, eat and drink, is all located inside city limits by about 15-30 yds. The timber is very small and the deer arent shy of people too badly (takes out the challenge but they are 2 of the biggest bucks Ive seen on hoof)
So whats your bad luck, Im not hoping youre having any but Id like to know Im not the only one.

What makes you think they won't leave the city limits? I'd set up legally right next to them.

You want back luck....Tuesday I ruptured my Achilles Tendon, Thursday I went under the knife so they could repair it. My Surgeon writes me off 3 months from work, that puts me into the first week of Nov, 4 weeks past our opening archery season. If I'm lucky and determined through physical therapy, I'll be able to hunt the remaining 2 weeks of our season. I know it's prime time and that's what I'm striving for. Bad Luck? I'm probably missing the first 3 if not 4 weeks of our season. Yup, you got it bad. [8D]

RE: Bad Luck!
thats terrible, im sorry to hear about both of your injuries. I may be limited to places to hunt but I suppose at least hunting I can do. As long asI have no injuries. I was in that boat last year when I tore the muscle from my shoulder blade. I was advised to not work for 3 weeks and definately not hunt for 4. This happened on Oct 2. season opens Oct. 1 here. I went 3 weeks in my stand, unarmed to pattern the deer. Week 4 I shot my buck. Hope everything works out for you all.
