If you think he's safe (i.e. low chance of another hunter killin him) Id wait a year and he'll be awesome...
Its tough though... Make sure you get some minerals pumped into him if its legal... His left side looks weak, may have been injured or is just still young w/ tons of potential

We had a great young buck very similar to that one on our farm last year. One of the other guys got tired (on the first day of rifle season) of not seeing any big bucks and shot him [:@]!! Great management, huh!

By looking at the buck you shot last year it looks like they have the potential to live past 2 1/2 so I would let him go another year or two a see the monster he turns into. Good luck either way!

I would age him at 3.5ya. you can tell that his body isn't filled out like a mature buck. If you think that he will make it another year or two I would try to let him walk, he could easily blow into a world class deer!

What a problem to have!
He's bigger than anything I've ever seen on the hoof.....or taken. He's also not going to have a rack that size here without being an older deer.
Me? I'd arrow him if given the chance. But...I can understand if someone in another location didn't.
I might have to let a few walk this year that will test my resolve. I hope so.
