Copper I was just kidding. I've wondered if someone had come up with something like this, before (this gadget).

Just joking.

Ive seen/heard of these before but have never used one. Might weigh down the bow a little bit...

With some improved technology, it might not be a bad idea...

I find within bow range, I'm pretty accurate, but I start practicing this time of year...As you are walking, stop, pick a mark and guess the range, then step it off....After awhile you get pretty good....Don't worry if your steps are 34 inches instead of a yard...Set you bow sights up to your steps....I'm lucky that I step off a yard with each step...
When I bow hunt I have already been in and picked a tree and I mark ranges at that time....I usually slash a tree at 10, 20 and 30 yards....One slash for 10, two for 20 and three for 30...

I hunted for about 35 years without a range finder, I did buy one a couple of years ago, it comes in handy, but isn't essential...

Hey, Copper. I have a friend who uses the Bushnell bow mounted range finder. It works very well but he has complained about the additional weight on his bow. Also, they are illegal in a lot of states including Utah, Idaho, Montana and others. Please check you state regulations before using it.

So if that elk's at twenty yards.....and you have your Back line lined up....where's your shot gonna go in relation to your 20 yd pin?

That would make my head hurt.
I dont think you line them up in the lines and shoot.
I think the lines just help with guessing range, then you move to the appropriate pin

That's how it's done tbk...I use this as a backup though to my own geusstimation of yardage to confirm what I already believe to be right.

I have a friend that has one on his bow. He likes it, but now he is stuck with a rangefinder for his bow and is really not useable for any other purposes. Its totally your call but if i were you I would go out and buy a bushnell yardage pro or some other make or model and go with that - its more versatile and not stuck to your bow. I have a bushnell elite 1500 elite with arc, its a little much for bow hunting but it really comes in handy for those long range rifle shots on coyotes.

Hope this helps.

I would be worried about the electronics holding up with all of the vibration put out by the bow, and the added weight.
