Pics of Quad-Pod, Summit Deer Deck, and Plot
Had a good weekend sweating and working on stands. Thought I would share some pictures of stands
and a food plot in the woods since no one posts much of this kind of stuff (maybe there is a reason [8D]).
First are pics of a quad-pod by GameTamers. I think it is about 14' to the seat (but it is adjustable
due to sliding legs). It is a great pod, easy to put up, move and doesn't require tools. It has a
nice swivel seat, and you can buy a bowholder that attaches to and turns with the seat, but the
platform is small, which is why you are supposed to shoot sitting down.
Also note the screw-tight adjustments. This not only makes it easy to pull apart, but lets you
adjust the legs on uneven terrain. We needed a pod due to small tree size in mitigation land.
This fits the bill. Again, the only negative is that it could use a slightly larger platform.
Next is a picture of a Summit Deer Deck we put up. Matt/PA just reviewed one of these on the bowhunting
gear page. It is very sturdy and plenty large enough. I like these climbing steps (I think made by Ameristep):
Here are two views from the Summit Deer Deck, with some trimming work done for lanes:
Here is a food plot in the woods. We cleared it out a few years ago. It doesn't look very good,
but until mid-summer it had oats, and now there is a lot of clover scattered on it. We decided to leave
it natural this year on purpose, and the deer seem pretty comfortable in it. But next year we are
going to clean it again and plant over the clover. Also threw in a salt lick picture from that food plot:
If you got this far, hope you enjoyed the pics.
