I'm only shooting 260 fps, so maybe my experience isn't applicable here as well.

i never had a problem with the Muzzy's out of my Bear Buckmaster with 2314'sandI know I never had that bow tuned as well asI have my current bow.

I guess that's one of the draw backs.I have 12 perfectly good Muzzy 125's that are of no use to me anymore. Six have never been shot.

lmao.I won't need that for a long long time. Of course, they are made out of aluminum and stainless. So, they won't rustfor about20 yrs or so.

I tried to give them to my buddy shooting a Matthews Switchback XT at 70 lbs. He's under 280 fps with a 125 gr tip.

I'm not sure of my fps. I'm shooting a Bowtech Tomkat with a 29" draw and Gold Tip 5575's. I have my bow set at 65 lbs, but I'mtrying for 70lbs by hunting season. The guy at the shop said, if I'm not up to 70lbs comfortably by season,I need to stick to 100 grain broadheads. I'm working out daily now, and I'm going to shoot daily starting yesterday! (even if it's just in the garage)I have some time, help from my friends, and a lot of motivation. I'll be good!

My ol'man has been shooting100gr Muzzy as far back as he can remember ..Never had problem with wind. Muzzys on his alum. shafts. Are you having a problem ? what shafts you using ?

What bow? DW? chrono'd speed? The answer to the last question will have a lot to do with why they are still working if it's slower than 280 or so. If I use my old bow even at 70# there are no problems with my old Muzzys.

First a Martin 65#'s and now a Mathews SB XT. 67#'s

That explains it. He's probably around 270 fps tops even with the Matthews. It's an issue of the bow's speed and how stable the arrow is to begin with. If the arrow is close to instability from the start and you add wind it's going to not fly well.

After a few years out of the game I was hoping that Muzzys would be just fine. However, a few articles had meapprehensive if that was still the case. Both said that 280 fps was about the max for a fixed blade broadhead. In a fenced yard with no wind they did fly good and I thought I was in the clear. Then, I decided to shoot them at 30 yds in the wind and they broke loose on me. i just ordered some Wac'emtriton XL 125's to try. I've read some good articles on them and they should be good.

Wouldn't it have been a lot less expensive to refletch with something to give a little more steerage?
