Hunting hot weather advice
Hello all!
Well, finally I’m going hunting! I will be hunting northern California in search for Blacktail deer and also carry a pig tag in case I see one
I will be doing a short backcountry hunt (only 3 days)…now; the temperature is expected to be in the lower/mid 90’s!
Can you guys help me with some tips or counseling to increase my odds for a successful hunt?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hey Kevin, I read in the Thermacell website that you need to keep it flat/horizontal to work properly and since I will be doing spot and stalk, I don't think I can keep it that way..any way, I'm bringing an "uncented" bug juice for the blood sucjers!

Well as far as advice on the heat drink plenty of water and have something to piss in if you are going to be on stand for long sits. Definitely something for the bugs(thermacell, spray, etc.)
As far as hunting advice find the shady cool areas (if there are any) and look for good water sources near cover. Hunt early and stay late (hunt every minute of the cooler parts of the day). Find some food sources.

Don't know about California, but in Texas and Arkansas, when it is warm, I will hunt near water sources and/or around the edge of known bedding areas.
