I can't recommend any bows better than what the other guys have, but I would like to make a general suggestion. Don't be discouraged if you aren't able to shoot a legal hunting draw weight right now.

Obviously, you will need to buy a bow you can handle now, but has enough draw weight adjustability to be legal for you to hunt with. Your shooting muscles will develop quickly as you shoot and practice. An easy way to do this is to try and shoot about 3 times a week. Then tighten the limb bolts 1/4-1/2 turn a week. You'll never notice the increase in draw weight but you will soon be drawing enough to be legal for hunting.

Thanks for all the advice, it's much appreciated. It's time to go back to the store and see how they feel. I suppose it will be like the first time I picked up my rifle, it belonged in my hands. Kind of like anextension of my arms. (Does that make sense?)
I have been worried about being able to bring the deer down with such a lightdraw weight at the moment. (I am in MI which doesn't have a minumum weight.) Ineed to make a decision and start practicing! I'm so excited!

Holy cow! I just got a Mathews Ignition! It's light and shoots like a dream! My husband decided to replace his older Mathews and got the Drenalin. Incredible bows and well worth the two hours spent driving north (and two hours back) to buy them.
Shoot it's only July. Well, at least I have time to practice!

Best of luck and welcome to the forum! The best part about bowhunting for someone who has only gun hunted before is that bow season better corresponds with bucks in the rut than gun season for most states. Be sure to let us know how you do!
