If it makes you feel that guilty then maybe you shouldn't have done it. I'm not sure why it makes you feel guilty but I'm not you. If you really feel that bad you could donate some of the meat to hunters feeding the hungry. If anything is going to make you feel better I would think that would.

Hey Guys, I meant no disrespect to gun hunters...kidding around mostly<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>And thanks for all the advice about not selling the gun. I mentioned it to my wife and she said I should hang onto it and pass it to my son when he gets old enough. He's only a month and a half now, so I'll have the option for a while!

man bowhunting...there's nothing like it. but don't sell your gun. you can use your gun for more than just deerhunting. small game hunting for one and you never know, you're feeling like you do right now, but next year if you don't have your deer by the end of bow season you might just want to go out again w/a gun....gonna be kinda difficult to do if you get rid of it. you'll kick yourself this time next year if you sell it.

Yep, don't sell the gun. We never sell guns anymore. They'll be hard to come by sooner or later, so I figure that we'll keep the ones we got.
Just bow-only with guns in the house. You just gotta...have enough will-power to trust that you won't pick up the gun and head to the woods. I don't have the strength yet, but...maybe someday.
Good luck with the bow! And enjoy that jerky!

AMEN FROMAN you had better keep what you have.
if you do not have it how are you gonna teach the little one? i am like everyone else i would much rather make my harvest with a bow but last year the old shotgun covered me for the winter. it is not gonna cost anything to hang on to it.

Trushot don't sell the gun and do not feel guilty about an ethical kill with a gun. I, like you am finding myself leaning more towards my bow and am finishing out my season with a bow, but if I do not have one by this Friday I will be going out with my gun Saturday to try and put at least one more in the freezer.
