david...thats a dang good idea....i just might look into that.
michael..goto bowsite.com and goto the "features" i think they are called..theres 20 some of them. might have to do some digging but they are there. everything from picking the shot, some have short videos, hair and sign ID, how long to wait etc etc...
to me bloodtrailing is one of the most critical points in the game...right up there with making a good shot. even good shots might leave a sparse trail...say the arrow clogs it up good or something. and bad hits happen to everyone. knowing what to do and what the sign is telling you is important..as well as being able to follow a trail. definently something i wanna learn more about...

RE: interactive blood trails
The first group I started teaching bowhunter ed classes with about10 years ago used to make tough blood trails for the students to follow. Along the trail we'd have shed's, a guy demonstrating a treestand etc. etc. I didn't make up the blood so don't know the exact contents... but it's in the old IBEF instructor manual. It was glycerin and food coloring. Looked just like blood. We'd splash it to show direction, put it on limbs or the side of a tree, backtrack... it was all in good fun, but tough. Sometimes they go as far as to spit some tobacco juice in a spot of blood to simulate a gut shot.[8D]
