A fellow hunter found a set of antlers,eleven points, in a food plot today... Is it unusal to find two antlers side by side ? Is it to early to start droping antlers ? We live in southern WV... We think it may be the antlers of a buck that has been seen falling down while trying to go up the side of the mountain. The buck has a swollen place and no hair . just above his left hip.(between the front shoulder and rear leg).. Today we saw a buck in a hollow trying to climb up the side, he fell on his back and was kicking and trying to get to his feet... After about five minutes he was able to get to his feet... Looking through optics, you could see where he had lost his antlers... My buddy was trying to get to the deer to put him out of his misery, but the deer saw him and ran down the hollow... We looked for about an hour(dark) and could not find him... We have been looking for this deer for two weeks.. He has been seen in the same area on four different occasions.. Each time he was observed falling down... The food plot where the antlers were found is approx.. a quarter of a mile from where the deer was seen today... The wound is approx.. 12 inches in diameter and looks like something is hanging from it..Sorry for such detail... Do you think the antlers we found in the food plot belong to this deer? Did not enjoy watching the deer on his back trying to get to his feet..... I am sure he is suffering ... Thanks for taking the time to read this... Merry Christmas to all. hard to say. do you think it got hit by a car or a sloppy shot. never know he might of lost a fight with a big one. sorry to here of storys like this. hope you catch up with him before the season is out.

Could be from a injury? But I have seen several healthy looking bucks that lost their antlers already.Bad year for some reason
