SETTING UP TREE STANDS... TIPS...
Since a lot of people are setting up their tree standsorabout to (yes there are some who already have all theirs up but they might have to adjust stands during the season),lets post some tips on setting up your stand or maybe where you put your stand.
Recommendations from reading:
How High? Between 17 to 20 feet, still offers a great shot but still keeps your scent as far above the deer as you can.
What side to face? Alwaystry to face dead into the wind or quartering to the wind soyou willsee the most deer out front or off the the sides, and be ready to set up a shot at a buck. It dosent make sense to hang a tstnd anywhere on the downwind sideof a tree. Wheyfloat your wind out over the same piece of woods wher you're watching for a buck?Remember to think what wind direction is probable for most hunting days in the fall.
Cover? Try to have some cover in the front and sides of your stand, but background is most imporant to hide your silhouette. Get some branches to brush in your stand if need be.

When placing your stand you should look for a good tree that has plently of limbs to help break up your outline.
Like in the picture below , you'll see that I'm in a good position to make any possiable shot without alerting the deer.
