Where you doing it? I do alot of spot and stalk on bears. In the last 2 years I've been within bow range of somewhere around 50-60 bears.
My latest spot and stalk was this guy

As to advice, watch the wind!! They noses are amazing they catch a wiff and they are gone, hear not so important they are incredible loud animals, they breath really heavy, feeding is loud, so they cover most of the sound you'll make, their eyes are the least of a concern sort of. if they See you and your 50+ out and your not moving, with any form of camo they will likley just ignore you and go back to what there were doing, but they do occasionally come in to investigate which can be nerve racking.
if you have any specific questions fire away and I'm sure you'll get some more advice.
