Just spent the weekend at my lease in Illinois. Saw some amazing deer in velvet. One already had about 8" brow tines and was way outside his ears. Should be a dandy this fall! Sure is a lot of corn this year with prices so high. The few soy bean fields around had a lot of deer in them in the evening. Will make a couple more trips before season to see how they are progressing. Cant wait for deer season! The fish spawn is over and I am getting pumped for deer season! Anyone else ready for season??

Did you happen to set out any trail cams? I'd be dying to see what was running around. You are right about the corn, I'm totally surrounded byit thisseason! Many folks have completely skipped crop rotation this year. Soybeans seem hard to come by this year, except in my foodplot!

I got some pics on a trail cam but it hasnt been out that long. There wasnt anything to brag about. It was set-up in a new area so just trying to see what was going there. There were 4-5 smaller bucks and does but nothing more than that. Planning on putting up some more trail cams in some dynamite areas so we will see!

I set out 4 trail cams this week. I'll be checking them in 3 to 4 weeks. Looks like I am pretty much surrounded by beans this year.
