My son Payeton who is 8 has been talking about the super slam in bowhunting. He has been watching Fread on Eastons hunting. He has taken a squirrel and turkey with his bow. Can anyone advise where I can get the list of all the animals that have to be harvested along with rules and such.
Thanks and safe hunting.

You might want to buy your son Chuck Adam's book Super Slam. Its his story about taking all the species with the bow, its a great read. Also tell your son that if he is seriously considering going for the slam he better pay attention in school, cause he is going to need some serious cash to pay for all those trips. Good luck to him.

I have 4 of the 29 so far by the time I am 70 maybe I will finish off the list.
Tell your son to start on the sheep and goats while he is still young and in good shape because I hear they are some tough hunting

iamyourhuckleberry thanks for the list I was unaware that there was two list. I showed it to my son who is 8 years old and he has placed it on his bulletin board. Later while we were shooting he seemed to take more time and try to place his shots better.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone for there response. My son is 8 years old and has harvested 2 deer with firearm and a turkey with a bow. He says this is the goal he now has. I belive that he understands about doing good in school a little bit more now. He has done fine up to know but today he shot his bow a little better then before. Later after I went to work he ask my wife to show him what he would have to me doing in the 3rd grade. He phoned my sister in law who is a teacher and is going to have her work with him twice a week. I might be working longer then planned if he stays with it.

Rjp,
Do not let the expensive scare you (or your son). "Where there's a will, there is a way"! Take advantage of your son's "youth" status. Hunt those stateswhich providemonetary reliefto kids (e.g. Colorado).Take advantage of offers given by friends (like me-please come to Colorado! I will help with any species I can-providing I'm still ticking. Your son will need to be 12 though). I am 14 animals into the quest and have plans to get #15 this November (Q-L Caribou). It has been a fun road...no regrets whatsoever. I'll do what I can to help you...![Wink](https://www.huntingnet.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
