In all honesty.....I was talking tomy sonlast night about a few of the bucks I saw, last year. There's at least5-6 (out of the 10-12 --what will be 2-1/2 yr olds) that might look pretty good, this year. I only know of ONE of them I "might" take. Then there's 2-3 (what will be 3-1/2 yr olds) that I "likely" WOULD take.
2 older than 3.5 (that I know of) that I WOULD take.
So....(as far as BUCKS go).....I'm hunting about 3-5 deer.

I'm too tired to fight this onenow. A couple 16-17 year olds in the deer section have worn me out. ![Big Grin](https://www.huntingnet.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Just remember.....
Let em go, so they can grow!
You can't ea the horns.
I'm a meat hunter.
Just think how big he would have been next year.
And of course the all time classic-"If I don't shoot him, someone else will"
Have fun, play nice.

In PA 3.5 is pretty old for a buck, but with antler restrictions that is improving. Young is a matter of perspective, so what I am looking for is bucks 3.5 and older. For other states, or some exclusive spots here, that might be too young.
No matter what the age, you'd better be taking them with nothing but heart double lung shots.![EEK!](https://www.huntingnet.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif)

I think that it is a landowner/hunt club decision. If the group wants to trophy manage, then the hunters should respect that and abide by the rules.
If it is on your own property, it is completely up to you. If you want to shoot a spike or a fork horn...go ahead...its your property, so do as you wish.
Me personally, a young buck is nothing more than a doe with potential. Cull bucks need to be shot, but otherwise if its a buck and its not going on the wall...let it go. There are plenty of does that need to be shot in the places I hunt and often not enough people to do the job.
