Thats a big bodied buck!! I would say 21" is proably about right. beautiful buck my friend!!
ORIGINAL: PEAKRUT

Does 21 inches seem right for the circumference of the neck on a mount judging by my pic of this buck? I went and brought the rack in last friday and should be ready in 2 weeks. The son showed me the form and seemed small.

Just mesured the neck on this one right under the ears and jawbone and it measured 23" exaclty. So this should be a 22" form. My deer weighed 221 field dressed. He was killed in cental IL on the 15th of oct. Hope this helps.

Nice deer, that bigger one is a toad.... However you need to have the tape directly below the ears and chin for that measurement.

My largest neck is off of a 165 pound buck that measures 23 1/2 over the cape, it was a second week of October deer with no "swell".

My heaviest buck (197 dressed) measures in at 21 3/4 over the cape it was a last week of October deer with very moderate "swell".

My highest scoring buck came comes in at 22 1/2 over the cape it was a first week of November deer with moderate neck "swell".

When I mentioned that I have never saw a neck that big (23+) I was referring to the manikins neck, not the over the cape measurement as that is what peakrut was asking about.

Those two deer are 24" and 27" forms, respectively. The tape is on them correctly (according to my taxi). This goes with what I stated earlier. Most of the deer I've had mounted that dress at 190-205, go on 23"-24" forms. The pics don't lie.

I know a Dave Funk but I thought he lived in Racine. If he works at Johnsons Wax, I know him.
