Default Finally shot a 3-d today

I have taken a 2 year layoff from shooting 3-d due to time and burnout but got the bug again and shot today.I was using a hunting setup all the way.

Started out kinda shaky and had 2, 5's in the first 5 targets but gained my composure and settled in and dropped only 13 points in the first half. Not bad with the 2 early fives.

The second half was much better and shot 1 yardage 5 with 2 targets to go and only dropped 6 points on the 2nd half.

I knew the yardage would get me a little today but it wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected.

I finished 3rd but donated the prize back to the club.

Pic of the best shot of the day.

It's good to hear you made it back out there today......

I am trying to get the motovation to go to a shoot, it would help if my buddies were a littleless lazy though ...... Ireallt wanted to shoot today but didn't want to roll solo.....I haven't been to a 3D since March and that was an indoor.

All my buddies have gone to golf or bowfishing.

I have pretty much been on a baseball field with my kids so time is limited.

Davies County in Maceo Ky shoots the second Sunday and I am goint to try and make that one too. They usually have a little easier shoot than Blackhawk.

Give me a shout if you can make that one.

As far as the showing up thing goes,I get lucky every now and then.[:-]

I hear ya. I haven't been shooting a whole lot in the last year either. Out of my crew that will normally actually go to a shootm I have...
- A guy building a house for himself
- another guy that broke his arm in 12 places because he fell out of the top bunk at Gun Camp last year, so he'll be lucky to be able to hold a bow by the time the season starts.
- one dude that always wants to go, but when you call him he would rather go fishing or watch tv than actually go to a shoot
- finally the last guy's wife has started kicking his ass about leaving the house at all, unless its for work.

It sucks I need new friends.

The bad part is that my score wasn't that great and I know that 2 years ago that I would have shot close to an even 300 from the open stake on this particular course.

It is all relative and shooting a 281 and finishing 3rd was kind nice using pins after that long of a layoff.

I am not planning on getting real competitive again but I am planning on making a few more shoots than I have been.
