Default Fruitless Trip to KS...

Well it we ended up empty handed after this past trip to KS, but it wasnt for lack of effort. Clayton and I put in over 40 hours in the past few days chasing after turkeys. We had a lot of close calls but the birds were just not cooperating. Got one shot off at a some birds that we snuck up on. We didnt have a hardly any time to set up a natural blind or anything so we had to wing it. The big gobbler came into about 20 yards and as clayton was drawing back one of the jakes with him caught movement and bolted. Just as Clayton was releasing the arrow the gobbler turned and bolted as well dodgin his arrow. I still had a good time and got some good footage. Thought i would share some pics.

What the GREAT Micheal Hunsucker(Turkey Killing Machine) had a problem getting a bird to cooperate.
Welcome to the real world of turkey hunting. That is what happens to me most of the time. But I believe you when you say you gave it a good hard try.

Any more states on your list? Or is it time to concentrate on deer season?

That is some pretty good growth on that buck already.

I believe thats it for me, im really beat after the past week, we hunted HARD. Im hangin up the turkey vest for the season. Time to start putting out minerals and trail cams and finish hanging some stands.

I was really surprised at this bucks growth as well, he is the biggest i have seen so far. Anyone else seen any like this?

I have seen some with 4 or 5 inches but nothing like the one in your pics. Been seeing some really fat does around here lately. Looking like they could drop the fawns any day.
