Gear Help
Hey all,
So with 4 months till the season, im planning my new treestand sights and im looking into getting some CHEAP yet decent tree stands. Im thinking of going w/ either 20' ladder stands or lock-ons.
Any suggestions as to where to buy? or what brands?
I found this ladder assembly at sportsmasnguide.com and its realtively cheap. Anybody used it?

Ed, I've had/used about every kind of tree stand over the past 15 years. I started using these. For the money, you cant beat them. Nothing fancy but they work fine. I've killed my two biggest whitetails out of this model.

How are they on comfort? The 18x24 platform seems kinda small how do you feel about it? Also, what do you use to get to them? For that price you cant beat them.

I dont mind a smaller platform. I'm 5-10 ..200 lbs.. so thats never been an issue.. I use the guide gear ladder system... I'll get a pic up for you here in about 10 min.. brb
yeah its hard to build your own for that price once you factor in labor and materials

RE: Gear Help
Ed, I also have a couple of guide gear double ladder stands. Nice for taking my kids or wife or lots of room alone.
I use either screw in steps for the fixed stand or the ladder system from guide gear (35.00 I think it is) pix below

RE: Gear Help
HuntingEd, I ordered one of those last year cuz i didnt have too much money to throw around so I figured I would go cheap. All I have to say is spend another $25 and get a bigger platform. I am 5'7" 140lbs and that thing was so small i was scared to be on it. I ended up shipping it back and got a Loggy Bayou for $60. I dont see it on their site anymore tho.
