I said 5, that is what I had been averaging before last year. My wife got sick in Oct. so that slowed my hunting some. Hopefully things will work out better this year and I can make up for it.

I plan on taking at least 3 or 4 does, and in Illinois you are only allowed two antlered deer per year. Hopefuly Ill get two with my bow, has to be over 150" though. Thats just my own personal restriction.

my goal is 3 with my new bow. A couple with my rifle would be good too but I'm going for at least 3 with my bow. That means I'll really have to put my time in on stand this fall

I said 3. 2 does, 1 buck. I COULD shoot realistically 5+ does every year, but I just simply won't eat that many. In fact, 3 is pushing the issue.

11 with the bow and 21 with gun last year....during the season anyway...hate to think how many including night shoots on damage permits.

Gotta remain optimistic....we need fewer does!

For you guys that know me.....I know you won't take this the wrong way.....but I hope I don't get burned out skinning deer, this year. The reason I say that is.....I know guys who won't kill a deer, sometimes....because they dread the process afterwards. I know what you're saying. Last year I got tired of skinning and butchering deer....not because I didn't like it, just because it was so time consuming and I was so busy. When they start getting piled up I just enlist the help of my hunting buddies and say let's get on it, get these things done. Most of the time we kill 3 or 4 at a time between my hunting buddies, so we just get together and take care of 'em all. But yeah I know what you're saying.
