Default Food Sources

I've heard that bowhunting in December you should hunt food sources. I live in NW MO and all the crops are harvested, so what are some other food sources that deer will eat? Thanks

Default RE: Food Sources

Just because the crops have been harvested, don't think all the food is gone. Unless the farmer has put his cattle in there or chiseled the field back under, there will be plenty of grain left, especailly in cornfields. But also watch hay fields and pastures. Deer love clover, so if you can find a meadow or field with clover in it, chances are the deer will be feeding there also. Wild plum thickets may still have some on the ground. I would look for fresh sign or spotting deer. They'll tell you what they are eating.

KEEP IT LEGAL. KEEP IT SAFE. OR WE MAY NOT GET TO KEEP IT AT ALL.
