You were right

This guy flew; I mean flew and landed right in the middle of my flock. I have 3 jakes and 6 hens’ setup in a triangle. My hope was for a Tom to check out the first two guys than check the one I had put back about 20 yds.

The Little guy did just that, I never evenseen his beard (only about 2'', LOL). I was playing solitaire in my PDA whenI heard a whoosh sound. My buddy Jack who was in the corner of the blind said "What's that"He never seen the bird, I pick up my bow, the Jake turned to check out the decoy I had put back. When he did I shot him right up the pooper. I spooned his arse with a 125 grain Montec . The jake jump up turned around and ran about 2 yds from the blind. This is when my buddy first seen the jake.

Hethan limpedlike a guy running to the john . He got about 60 yds away and was still walking, I was shocked. Then he just took off running

I jumped put of the blind and went to go look in the field, no bird . I searched two fields for 45 mins, no bird. I walk back to were I last saw him, found a pile of blood. I then had a moment of rage, where I cussed out anything. As I am doing so I look over to the left and there is the dam turkey. 20 yds from where I last saw him.

This is my 5th bird and 4th with a bow. I still have no idea what I am doing, but I hope to get better every year. I think after next year I may try long beard hunting only. I have 4 jakes and 1 long beard.

Good for you Germ , thats one heck of a way to spoon a bird , your ASAT blind looks pretty good among those trees and it blends in well.
How long was the beard and spurs , did you whigh it yet?
Congrats on your bird at least you got one.

Thanks for the replies

I am having issue with my cable modem. Flaking in and out on me.

RD he weight 17 pounds and had a 2, yes 2'' beard.

I saw 3 other Tom's after I shot him, all jakes. I had a feeling all the big boys were "hened" up.
