In that case, I may go with the black. Still, I don't think it would be a really bad idea to go with the heavier arrow. I'll drop down from 300 fps, but it should pack quite apunch when it hits, huh?
(This won't start that kinetic energy versus momentum thing up again, will it?)

whats your current completed arrow weigh do you know?? 50grs will slow it down a bit...but will add KE. im the complete opposite of most people on this forum. speed aint nothin but a number...that makes up KE. i rather maxamize KE than speed. the diffrences in flight time and arrow trajectory arent hardly noticable if you look at the real world numbers. sure going from 300 fps to 200fps youll notice...but im talkin 260fps to 230fps...seems worth it to me to gain atleast 10ftlbs of KE or more..

all personal prefrence...in the end it comes down to putting that arrow where it needs to be put. thats something we cant argue over. but for them times i smack a rib or shoulder id like the extra KE to drive my arrow..im only shooting like 55ft/lbs of KE though...my new arrows about 100grs heavier will slow me down....but will also give me the highest speed with the most KE. i found the point where you loose more speed than KE will go up with a heavier arrow...crappy stuff...gave me a headach lol...

the KE output from a particualr bow is not going to vary but a few lbs depending on arrow weight/speed combinations. What will change is momentum, down range velocityand quietness though.

My current arrow weight is right at 400 grains with a FOC % of 12%. The Pro Hunter Hardwoods HD arrows would weigh 460 grains with the same 100 grain point and the same 4" vanes. FOC would be 9.02%. Any inputs on this?

Well, I have to retract something. I said that my completed arrows weigh 400 grains. That's what my pro shop owner told me. According to the Gold Tip website arrow builder,a 28 1/2" XT Hunter 5575 with 4" vanes and a 100 grain point should weigh 383 grains. Again, the same configuration in the Pro Hunter Hardwoods HD would weigh 460 grains. A 77 grain increase just to go to camo? I know I could use the extra weight, but what are the real pro's and con's of this extra weight? Is TFOX or someone else out there who has the calculator that can say what FPS I'll shoot with a 460 grain arrow with 70# draw and 29" draw length???

For hunting the 9% FOC isn't ideal... The 12% you are at now is though.

If you went with the 7595's and put blazers on it, it would raise your FOC and drop your total arrow weight, making a really nice hunting shaft setup.

If you want to know what your bow would shoot at the new specs I need your current specs to calculate it.

Whats your current FPS and total arrow weight?

Thanks, Scott. My pro shop owner said that my current arrows weigh 400 grains. They chronographed at 299.8 fps.
On the 7595's, again, with a 100 grain head, the total weight would be 460 grains. If I switched to a 125 grain head, the FOC would be 10.97%, but the total weight would be 485 grains. ???????????

If you were at 300fps with 400 grains at 460 grains you would be at roughly 280fps. At 485 grains you would be roughly 271fps.

A FOC around 12% for broadheads is what I shoot for.

So, naturally, my next question is what do some of you out there think about a 485 grain arrow moving at 271 fps??? Is that good?
