Default Stand Up or Sit Down

How do you guys shoot out of a treestand?

I prefer to sit down and shoot when possible, there is a lot less movement, and the shakes from Buck Fever don't affect me as much.

I stand immediately upon seeing a deer. Instinct.

Both:

My lock-ons allow me to shoot sitting down. My climbers....I HAVE to stand to get over the railing.

I shot all my deer in the climbers, though.

i stand. i have to...having a summit viper kinda makes sitting shots tough i also stand ALOT while hunting. the summit is to dang comfy...if i sit over an hour w/o action ill be sawing logs. i stand during the hours that i typically see the most deer as well. as soon as the day starts to break i stand up for a good hour or so waiting. and evening hunt, i stand about an hour before dark...i call it the "golden hour" in the fall the light seems almost golden for some reason to me....and thats when i see deer...so i call it the golden hour lol.

i been caught off gaurd more times than i been standing...but all those times i got up and ready without being busted.

if i wasnt standing when the buck i shot at this year came through i woulda never gotten a shot. that was the golden hour...

That's pretty much what I do also, that is if I'm not already standing.

Problem I have with sitting is that I can only see what is in front and a limited about on both sides. If I'm standing, I can easily twist/turn and see behind me as well.

I sit for the same reasons as you, no need to stand if you can comfortably shoot sitting down. Personal choice though.

I stand the vast majority of time in the woods..............I will sit a few times for a change of pace but not for very long. I always shoot standing up.
