New bow& questions
I just ordered my first bow. A pse pro seriesbruin.
Would this be good for small game/deer and maybe turkey?
Also I have one question. I live in new york and have no idea what to do. What permits do I need to hunt/bowhunt? Where would I get these?
I have a hunters saftey license but thats it.

RE: New bow& questions
Welcome to the wonderful world of bowhunting! To determine if you have enough bow to hunt with we will need to know what your draw weight is. A good minimum weight for deer sized game would be 40 lbs. Check the NY DNR for info on legal requirements in your state. Another and probably the most important thing is to make sure your bow is set up right to fit you. And practice as often as possible. We owe it to the animals we hunt to be proficient with our weapons. I have learned so much on this site about bowhunting in the 2 years I have been coming here. Ask as many questions as you need to. We will do our best to help you out.

RE: New bow& questions
The bow should be plenty. You may want to consider a good cut on contact broadhead when it comes time to broadhead tune in preparation for hunting. With a lower draw weight bow such as your a COC head will give better penetration. Good luck with it and remember, practice, practice, practice.
