The way I understand it is that the "Secondary Rut" revolves mostly around yearling does and the fact that they come into estrus later in the season? The degree of this secondary rut is mostly dependent upon the number and concentration of these yearling does.......anybody else back that up?

Yearling does and any does that were born late in the year go into their cycle later. So , Yep! I'll back that up!

Yes. Any doe that did not get bred during the first rut will come into heat again 26-28 days later. And some yearling (fawn) does will also come into heat later in areas that have good feed.

However around here that would be after gun season has been in. Most of the mature bucks will be on the alert and the only breeding activity will be at night. Unless you hunt a place that has very little hunting pressure during gun season.
