I like heavy for hunting. 2216# 29" Easton with 3 Blade Rocky Mountain 125gr. I took an adult Doeat 25 yds, quarterd away-entered rib cage & exited out far shoulder & stuck in the ground. She went 10 yds. A nice 160# Iowa Doe.

With most of today's bows, arrow weight probably isn't that big of a deal. I would say as long as your kinetic energy is ok (above 40lbs for deer according to www.goldtip.com) then I would think you're fine.

My 28" maxima arrows chrono's at 275pfs. They weight 368gr. The kinetic energy calculater on goldtip.com (www.goldtip.com/calculators/kinetic.asp) shows my arrows with 61.81 lbs per ft in kinetic energy.

According to their chart, 40+ for Deer, Antelope, & Bear......50+ for Elk, Moose, and Caribou is recommended.
