RE: hunting in a snowstorm
I have very rarely seen deer moving in heavy snow, while it is snowing anyway. After a snow fall and the weather tends to stablize it can be awesome, deer will move a great deal and really have to look for food, if you can find any remaining honey-suckle and types of vines and shrubs they like to feed on they will most always go for that, where the food is at a level that they can get to easily. I have hunted in the snow, but in Va we don't get alot, maybe some of those IL guys or northern hunters can give more input.~Ben

i've seen deer in a snow storm,i would have walked right by them if one of them didn't wing its head up to see what i was.they were feeding but they were also covered with snow. we watched them for a few minutes then they walked off (does)
other storms i have seen nothing, but i keep looking because they have to be some where.

one of THE best chances to stalk on foot for any creature is during a snow storm! The going can be super quiet as long as the snow isnt to deep and/or crunchy yet. You have cover where-ever you stand.....move SLOOOWLY, use bino's and have the hunt of your life as there's nothing like it!
