I don't think any of the bows are overrated. A bow that you may think is the greatest thing since popcorn I may think sucks and vice-a-versa. Now if you ask which one is overpriced I'll say all of them.

IMO, the most over-rated bow is a bow that someone will purchase in the hopes of purchasing accuracy, without practicing A-TON!

I've shot many bows over the years and everyone of them has it's own feel. As a bowhunter, you simply need to shoot a bunch and buy the one that feels the best. A bow is a very personal thing and I think way too much emphasis is placed on brands and speed; not enough on "how does this bow fit me".....

Not necessarily true...

I think that the Fred Bear line of bows are great bows and are really inexpensive. I think that they are better bows then a lot of other bows similarly priced.

My opinion: whatever bow you shoot that hits where you are aiming consistently and you are comfortable with is a good bow. names don't mean a thing, cause like alot of things you buy you are only paying for the name.

with all the bows out there what brand is the most over rated?
You forgot Hoyt, which would have been my first vote.
Here is my opinion on overratedness.
1.Bowtech
2.Hoyt
3.Mathews
4.The paper clip bow I just made during study hall. The thing shoots 10fps...that is blazing fast!
Edit: The reason I say Bowtech is this. They didnt actually invent much, if any, of the technology that they use. Darton owns the patent on their cam system as well as a few other aspects of their supposed leading technology.
If Darton were that great, then we would see them instead of Bowtech.

One thing Bowtech seems to have no trouble doing is producing new cams almost every year and always including "ADJUSTABLE DRAW LENGTH MODS" which the other makers say compromises speed and effeciency? Ever compare Bowtech speeds with the other guys? Ever compare the draw force curves and do any other manufacturers offer 2 different draw mod options? Bash Bowtech all you want, but show me those features in another comparable bow? If I was a proshop I would rather stock cheap DL mods than draw specific cammed bows, sure helps the inventory and bank line. I voted MAthews because I see the insane prices guys get for them on Ebay and shake my head. People pay almost retail for used bows with no warranty. You don't see that kind of cult like demand for any other used bow. Not saying the Mathews bows aren't excellent, just amazed at what people will give for a used one.
