Nah, I just used an A/C/C 3-60 (340 deflection) and a Muzzy 3 blade 125 gr. It still made it clean through, quartering away from 17 yards; bears just aren't that tough to penetrate.

The FOC is based in the Gold Tip product, but it can give you a very good idea about your arrow set up...

download the free trial version of OnTarget from Pinwheel software. It will tell you exactly what 100 or 125 grains will do in terms of your arrow spine.

I love this software. I can spend hours playing around with different setups and what-if scenarios....

I will go with the Phantom's this year. I read a study that was posted on one of these forums about how the phantom's required less ft. lbs of kinetic energy to push through a deer than the regular muzzy's.

Now I've always been a die hard fixed blade muzzy man but these interest me. They look pretty wicked.
