Outfittrs a problem in your area?
I have heard many people complain about this topic in the past, soI was curious to see how many of you are in this situation. I am a nuetral state as my brother has a buisness started that I support in full because thats how I would like to live. I, however don't like the fact that they can offer much more $ and get land that people hunt anually and boot them off.
It is a touchy subject around my parts, discussion can get very heated ... what do you think ?

I can only name a handful in the whole state.
Development/sprawl is a much greater issue. I would rather see more money come in for hunting in the form of outfittersthan land be perminently destroyed by yet another housing project or strip mall. You gotta pay to play, and if you live in an area with some of the biggest deer in the hemisphere you should be used to tourists with deep pockets. Lucky you to have a problem like that vs land developers with teams of lawyers, minions of land clearing equipment and multi million dollar budgets at their free disposal.

I'll take the first bullet...
IMO, in Kansas the outfitters are f@#$$%* things up. They are lobbying like crazy to get rules changed in their favor. Since it's inception, archery has been a statewide permit. Buy one, hunt deer anywhere. Because of outfitters, you can now only hunt in 3 units. To get more out of state permits they all had to be redistributed and regulated to specific areas. Now there are tansferable permits. Meaning, if you own land you can buy a permit and sell it to someone else. People are losing there right to hunt because the outfitters are going to every farmer and offering them hundreds or thousands of dollars to secure these permits and the land that goes with them. They got into the business because they likedhunting and could make a little money. They have gotten greedy, damn greedy. I truly believe that if you don't own land you will not be able to hunt in Kansas for less than 5000.00 in the next ten years.Or you can go sit somewhere public and stare at the five guys within 500 yrds of you. I have other stories, but I realize that I am rambling....sorry.

I hope they lease more land in my area, just not the land I hunt. They only shoot mature bucks leaving the little ones grow up, the same as me. Some of the owners now shoot anything with antlers. The outfitters limit how many hunters to a property and how many deer are taken. They also plant food plots and take good care of the deer. So far my landowner says he will not lease to outfitters, plus he is family so I feel secure. I feel the outfitters are helping my hunting and deer herd. This may not be how everyone feels, but in my case I feel it helps.
