I've shot both . From different bows . GoldTip on my compound , carbon express on my recurve and crossbow . I like them both alot . But - I'll buy carbon express arrows for my compound the next time out . I have had some Gold Tip arrows split from the nock end . I have broken only one carbon express arrow (I shot a dumpster,,,,oops) . I have also had the vanes stay on those arrows regardless to how I abuse them .

Congrats on the robin hood MD, my one and only came with Gold Tips two years ago, back when the XT's were the top of the line.
