RE: ? for Illinois bowhunters
Thanks buckhunter, I have some private ground, and the landowner gave methe go ahead to try this, I have a spot picked out that is about 1.5 acres....it looks like a old pasture about 3 acres in sizesurrounded by woods and about 100 yards from a creek....is this to small?

You may also be somewhat limited on your choice of planting you can have this first season while you wait for the lime and fertilizer to work into the soil and rasie the PH. Next year you'd be able to plant about anything you want but I would certainly shy away from blends of more sensitive seed types like clover, alfalfa, etc. You'll want to look at tougher, more adaptable annuals such as brassicas, oats, wheat, etc.

WOW!!! IL-Cornfed, those plots look awesome!!! How much fert. and lime did you need to get the PH right? I would not of thought it would take all that much will the rich fertile ground of East Central IL, but I am no farmer. Also, I heard that Bio Logic is overrated, I just used the name as an example, what brand do you find to work best as far as ability to survive both wet and/or dry conditions?
Also....that top picture looks almost identical to the spot I am talking about.
