Well the kid who can't do math just learned something new.

I never understood how to calculate FOC, but following what you posted TFOX, my FOC seems to be 11.1.

Now, not to hijack the thread (sorry Coug), but is this good or bad? What is the optimum FOC one should strive to acheive?

11% seems to be my optimum foc. easton reccomends 10-15 %.

Straightarrow reccomends HIGH foc(20% range)for a variety of reasons, broadhead flight in ALL conditions along with great penetration.I can't argue with that because it is logical, but imo, overkill.

Hijack over,well,maybe.[8D]

I have actually been very ill this week. I missed almost a whole week of work. Probably the most ill I have been in 15 years. I would give you the gory details, but you may have just eaten.

Thanks for the concern

I would also pick the best quality arrow if they are of different brands and models. I heavier arrow isn't going to mean much if the quality is less.

By the way, I am feeling better now, so I will try to up my word count for you all.

the deciding factory with Axis and Epics shouldnt be weight! it should be price and tolerances. 20grs wont mean beans for the most part. with them 2 choices it comes down to price, quality, and tolerances. the axis is the better arrow. i shot epics this year...no problem with them. held up well. but im switching to a better, heavier arrow this year.

I agree with Mauser, look at the tolerances of the arrow,(straightness, difference in weight from shaft to shaft). Good luck with your choice.
