RE: STABILIZERS
personally if you buy a bow that is well balanced you dont need on thats just extra weight but if you wana buy one thats up to you. but try to get a lighter one because if you are at full draw and you have a heavy bow its gonna be hard to hold it up if a deer stops behind a tree

Actually the heavier stabilizer will help you hold steadier while aquiring the target. They are also used to help a bow to fall forward upon release vs. staying upright or falling toward the shooter. It really is a personal choice of what feels best to the shooter.

sr77 is right. though it may seem backwards its easier to hold heavier objects steady to a certain point..im not saying attach a 20lb weight to your bow..but reasonable wieght is good..its easier for you to move a lighter weight..so a heavier weight should be more stable..but you gotta see what feels best on your bow. this year i wanna try out some longer and heavier stabilizers. i think having weight out in front of the bow would feel good for me. look at target rifles. them things are typically big and heavy to help the shooter hold them steady when shooting free hand. sorry to bring up rifles but i know more about them than bows at this point..lol
