Noisy bow huh? Dang. Mines quite and I never put anything on it. I think you refer to it as the boat anchor brand.
When they are that slow you don't need anything on the string. I could imagine how slow it would be after that.

Well, I have a Mathews and it is quiet, but I think all bows could be quieter. I am glad to read so many positive things about an STS seeing as how I just bought one. I haven't put it on yet even, but now I can't wait to give it a try. All of the animals I shot this year moved before the arrow got to them and none were looking at me at the time of release, so I guess they had to hear something. None of them moved "enough" to make a difference in the end result, but sometimes even a little bit can be enough so might as well make them as silent as possible.
BTW, the only difference between my MAthews and my Hoyt is that my MAthews has been luckier.I am a bow slut and will and do shoot whatever.
