So MathewsBoy, what did you get, how big, why did you choose it etc etc. I'm going to get one for the new house to hang on the wall over the fireplace mantel. Haven't done any research just yet, but I'm getting close to moving in. About a month and a half and the joint will be done. I'm not looking at jumboton... probably something in about a 42 inch job.

Well.. First of all.. Its a plasma and its HIGHLY reccomended you DONT hang one above a fireplace you intend to use. Too Much HEAT..
Its a 50" Samsung. HP-S5053
Had the best color and deep blacks out of all the ones I looked at.
Had all the inputs I needed. Component, HDMI, etc... VGA hookup, I can now hook my Computer up to a 50" monitor and browse Huntingnet.. YES
I liked the color saturation and depth of black alot more on the plasmas v.s. the LCDs. I also found it alot easier to watch sports on the Plasmas..
It came down pretty much between the Panasonic and The Samsung. I just liked the Picture better, the more inputs, and the look more than the panasonic. BOTH are great though. You just have to do some research and go look at as many as you can and compare.
I was gonna get the 42" but when I looked at the 50 next to the 42, the 50 dwarfed it.
PM with any questions you have.. I'd be happy to help..
Keep in mind, standard definition tv won't look the greatest.. Its High Def , where these tv's REALLY Stand out.
The Discovery HD channel is jaw dropping. In my opinion anyways...
