Default Politically correct bowhunters

We as bowhunters and hunters in general, are told to not show blood in our dead animal pics, to say that we harvested an animal instead of killing it, and if we have a realty TV show, to not show a lamb killed on it, if we are associated with bowhunting as this makes bowhunters and hunters look bad.
Does it really matter what the antis and peta think on this subject? The states rely on hunting and fishing license and tag revenue to operate and to fund public land and waters for which animals live on. Sales of hunting and fishing merchandise is federally taxed and these proceeds go back into wildlife care and land. How about the income hunters give to motels and restaurants, not to mention manufacturing companies that employ the people that make our hunting products. Do the anti groups have the funds to compensate the states for loss revenue of licenses and tags? Do they have a product that they are willing to federally tax, like all of our hunting and fishing merchandise, to fund wildlife? Where will these anti groups get the money to buy back states lands that were bought with hunting and fishing license fees if they wish for these lands to not allow hunting? The answer to me is simple. NO!!Money talks and the states depend on hunters' money and they also depend on us for population control. These anti groups are blown way out of proportion through propaganda and peoples' ridiculous fears. Think about it, we are talking MILLIONS andMILLIONSOF DOLLARS. They don't have the money that hunters and fisherman generateand never will.

That is a very good point. PETA and those other organizations have no where near the funds to support any of that. Every state would be over run with wildlife and then the wildlife would create new disease from the mass population of wildlife. How dare they say that what we do is not right and should stop. How are they supposed to take care of that. The game we kill feeds people... it is a way for some families that do not have a high income to feed their families.

First of all Don....."Millions"????? It's WAY bigger than that.

BUT.......

Ask dove hunters in MI the question you asked, above.

Ask bear hunters in NJ.

Etc..., Etc..., Etc...

Yes. They can win.

There's a company here that has several hundred acres enclosed with a fence. They hire sharpshooters to come in there every so often to thin their herd. Who's to say the states couldn't do that?

I'm not willing to take the chances a lot of you seem to be risking. It seems like a large price to pay if you lose. I won't sell out....but I'll play their game. I didn't have to have sex with my wife in front of our son to describe sex and reproduction. I think we can present/describe/expound uponhunting and the taking of game in a tactful manner, too.

Another topic, well non hunting related but what happens when animals are banned from science? Where do we go from there? Trust me you cannot read about the parts of a fish for example and understand it, you need to get hands on dissecting to figure it out. Things look alot different in a book than they do in real life. Anyone who has taken a zoo or gross anatomy class can understand this. I am currently working on a paper as a choice assignment for one of my education classes on the topic of how animal rights groups such as peta have affected teaching science. Oh baby its going to be a doozy. Maybe i will post it up here for you people to view once i am done if anyone is interested.

It's not nessessarily the Anti's or Peta people to worry about when being politically correct, it's the other 80% of the public which are neutral. I don't mind seeing or showing the real deal either, but I do it in good taste if possible.Being a "Politicaly Correct" bowhunter to a certain extent is smart. Not being politically correct at all, becausea bowhunterdoesn't have to, will only help to turn the 80% into anti-hunting ways. That the choice we have...

Joey, all we have to do is be decent, everyday, law abiding citizens and live a good life. If you can get along with your co workers, other students for those who are students, and people in general than the other 80% don't care whether we hunt orhave blood in our deer pics. If they did, they would already be with the antis and peta.

Don getting along good with co-workers and being good citizens is a far cry from slaughtering a lamb on national TV.

Don...

I also remember a discussion a few weeks back when we were discussing the HCHunting adventures. Would you shy away from showing poor shots on deer?A head shot that resulted in death? Show the animal writhing 'til it died? Present the animal the way it was really found (pool of blood)? Film it with a partial intestine hanging out as it stood moments before death?

Why or why not? And what would you say if I told you I'd produce your shows if you didn't show those things....but instead cleaned it up a bit for national TV audiences?

Interested.
