Am I crazy?
I have this high country four runner that I got from my step dad a year ago. The bow was great for him with a 30" draw length but is to long for me. The guy at the archery shop said that's as short as the draw length gets on this bow and the only way to get it to my 28 3/4" draw is to pay $80 for new cams. I have found I don't really like 80% let off (it screws me up) and I can't handle how fast the bow is very well. The draw length is way to long for me so it gives me target panic and it's just not a good bow for me. I'm not real picky about hunting bows so I was thinking of selling the high country and buying a PSE team fitzgerald package. Set it up like my old bow and hunt with it. Being a new bow I could get one to suit my draw length and draw weight preference. So am I crazy for wanting a bow that fits me over one that doesn't but is superior in design and effecency? Anyone want to buy a great almost new bow at a great price?

No , your not crazy! It doesn't matter if it's a $1000 bow. If the draw length is too long your never going to achieve good form. Your best bet is to get a bow that fits you.

If the equipment isn't right then why use it you owe it to the game you hunt to have equipment that you are good with and using a bow that isn't set right for you is a bad hit waiting to happen,I would say your crazy if you dont change I have heard that the PSE is a good bow and as far as your high country put it in the classified's here I'v noticed that equipment put in the classified's on the hunting net dont last long

My two cents worth, if you like everything about the bow, except the draw length, why not just cough up $80 bucks for the new cams? Now if you just want another bow that will fit you then sell it.

I tried the Team Fitzgerald at the pro shop and liked it very much. But the draw length was too short for me. It's a great little package deal. But why spend $200.00 for a new bow package when you can spend $80.00 and get that bow set up the way you want it. Just my opinion. But buy the new cams.

Hmmm....I'm no expert here but can't you just twist the string a few times to shorten the draw length? Maybe an inch and a quarter is asking a bit too much though?

If you like the High Country and the way it is set-up, with the exception of the draw length, then fork out $80 for new cams and have a great bow at a great price.

On second thought, no you are not crazy for wanting to get rid of it. What are you asking for it??<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

It's not just the draw length, it's the let off and speed is hard for me to handle (I'm used to my 10 year old darton).
Deerdust or anyone else interested before I put it in the classifieds, $300 for the bow with all bells and whistles and release aid, and 8 goldtip arrows with broadheads and field points and stuff. And I'll throw in my bushnell laser rangefinder. The bow is like new. I've only had it for this past season, my stepdad had it for two seasons and shot it maybe 12 times. Except for those 12 times the bow set in the closet in it's case. I only used it for one weekend this season. The bow weight at 30" is 60#
