I also have the Garmin Etrex. It does very well for me but if I buy another one I may look at one with uploadable topo maps. I bought mine mostly for hunting but have since discovered Geocaching and it works very well for that also.

Thanks for the input guys, I actually bought a Garmin Extrex Legend CX. It does just about everything and I've ordered topographical software to go with it. I got a really good deal on it, Sportsman's Warehouse had it on sale fro 219.99 from 269 and bass pro matched it. I had a 10% off coupon at BP and about $40 in gift cards so I only had to pay about $160 plus tax. I'm taking it out today, so far it's been really easy to use after I read the manual.

I have a regularetrex legend and I have the roads and recreation software that sh*t istight I just got it and I'm so pumped to use it. That cx version has a color screen or something like that doesn't it.
