Elk in new mexico
How many of you have hunted NEW MEXICO for elk? I have a oportunity to go there and hunt on my uncles land. He owns a 80 next to his brothers 300 or so acres. Just woundering how much a licens is for a out of state hunter and if you got any elk well hunting.

380 acres isn't much for elk hunting, but if there is a good water source there it might be enough. It all depends what part of the state the land is in. If I were you I would go to the New Mexico DOW website and check it out. They have an abundance of info on elk hunting the different parts of the state, license fees, etc. Good luck.

I have hunted and filmed Elk hunts in New Mexico for years. We have taken some bruisers on film for different shows. You can find out of state license fees on the New Mexico DNR site and they are steep. Hopefully you can get a landowner tag from you relatives. If not, your in the lottery like the rest of us.
