Default Booked a bear hunt with a bow, question?

Well.. some of you might remember my question about hunting buffalo (bison) with a bow on a "ranch".. I guess I just couldn't bring myself to do it, even with a buffalo..

Instead.... Today I booked an affordable hunt for black bear near Ontario Canada. After I shoot my fall bear I get to go fishing..

Anyway, I shoot a Mathews Outback with 400spine Axis arrows at 64lbs with a 28inch draw length..
Not sure on what broadhead to use yet but I have strikers and montec's.

Question is... Is this enough to kill a blackbear without any issue.. Works great on Whitetail but I've never bow hunted bear before..

Anyone have experience with this?

Absolutely more than enough. I guide bear hunter myself and can tell you that with a well placed shot a bear will die easier than a deer will. With that being said (I might get some heat for this) I do not let my bowhunters shoot expandables. With as much fat and long hair as they have, I want to see something with a bigger entrance hole. JMHO.

More than enough. I know a few people in the 50 lbs rang that had better shots then the 70 lbs guys. Its all were you put it.

Is this hunt the kind where the bear will be eating apples out of a trash can when you shoot him?

Figured it was just wanted to ask.. Thanks for the input..

I believe they have stand locations with bait and some without, hunters choice...

This thread is not for an argument over baiting and how to hunt so please don't try to turn it into one. A legal hunt is a legal hunt, please leave it at that as everyone has their own way.

The reason I posted the question was if the hunt was not going to include any bait, I would have liked to ask a few questions. Mainly on scouting for black bear and in unfamiliar territory.
Good luck with your hunt,
KP
